Early Beginnings.
The School started operating from temporary satellite buildings scattered in and around the Mundemba New layout.
Academic Bloc.
A 2 bloc of flats building owned by Sesse Ituka of Dikome Ngolo, located at Street 4. New Layout, Mundemba served as the School Academic Bloc from November, 1975 to September, 1976, when it was relocated to its permanent site at Manja village.
Administrative Bloc.
The residences of the Pioneer Principal located at the hilltop of Street 4, and subsequently at Street 3, New layout Mundemba served as the School Administrative bloc from 1975 to 1978, when it was relocated to the permanent site at Manja.
Boarding and Lodging.
At the time GGS Mundemba was established, Mundemba, the Divisional capital of Ndian, was practically a village, with very limited modern private residential accommodation to carter for the student population. a majority of whom were coming from outside Mundemba and Ndian Division.
In order to accommodate the GGS Mundemba students, the school management had to rent buildings within and around New Layout to serve as dormitories for male and female students.
Female Hostel No1.
A 4 bedroom building owned by Chief Akanang was rented and served as the female hostel between November 1975 to October 1976. The building was located at the entrance into Mundemba Town.
Female Hostel No 2.
Due to the increased number of female students and congestion of hostel No 1, a new building owned by Hon Nwalipenja at Street 4. New Layout was rented and served as the new female hostel effective 1976 until the boarding system became redundant.
Boy's Hostel.
A wooden structure owned by Tata Nanje and located between Street 1 and 2 and opposite the Presbyterian Church, New Layout, served as the Boy's hostel.
Feeding and Refectory.
The school management had to also make arrangements to feed the students. To this end, Pamol Unilever Ndian donated to GGS Mundemba their Palm nursery house to serve as Kitchen and Refectory of the School. The refectory was located at the fringes of the Mundemba Market and close to Hon Mbile's Farms. It was a zinc House with two large rooms..One of the rooms served as store and kitchen and the larger hall served as the dining hall.
The GGS Mundemba Streams .
Every School Facility from boarding, refectory, academic were located near to a running stream which served the water, thirsts and sanitary needs of the students at that facility.
Relocation of the Academic Bloc from New Layout Mundemba to Manja in 1976.
The academic bloc was relocated from New layout Mundemba to the school new site at Manja.
Manja was about 5 kilometers from New Layout Mundemba.
The students had to shuttle daily, to and fro the streams, hostels to refectory between 6am to 7am and head to Manja, 5 kilometers away to attend morning assemblies and classes effective 7.30 am to 2 pm.
Then at closing, return to their hostels and refectory at New layout, Mundemba.
